Just how big of a role does illegal immigration play on our security? Apparently alot. First, it costs American taxpayers (that's you and I) approximately $338.8 billion dollars a year. $3 million a day is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens and 30 percent of the prison population in this country are illegal aliens. In 2005, there have been 4-10 million illegal aliens that have crossed over our southern borders. As many as 19,500 illegal aliens have come from terrorist countries. Can we afford to spend $338 billion a year? Can we afford to let that many illegal aliens come here to commit crimes? No we cannot. Apparently, Congress doesn't know or doesn't care. Immigration is a serious issue that we need to pay attention to. It's an on-going problem that has been infecting this country since 1492.
